與學術性和非盈利性來源的質量和穩定性均不穩定的四聚體不同，五聚體得益于優異的設計，并依照包含許多嚴格的質量控制步驟在內的行業標準而生產。利用五聚體技術可以獲得準確且可重復的結果。Pro5®五聚體由五個MHC-肽復合物經一個卷曲螺旋結構域組合構成。借其平面構型，五聚體中的所有五個MHC-肽復合物均可用于結合互補的T細胞受體(TCR)。每個五聚體還包含高達5 個熒光或標簽以實現明亮且有效的標記。相比之下， MHC 四聚體技術依賴于四面體結構的MHC-肽復合物，由于空間結構的原因，可以用于TCR 結合的MHC-肽復合物不超過3 個。
